How big will the digital file be?
Size will depend on the specific format the file is converted to. A one hour video presentation converted to real media will be approximately 50 MB. So eight hours of content can easily fit onto one CD!
What will the quality be like?
Quality will vary depending on the format used. Examples of the quality of the various formats can be seen here.
Which digital format is best for me?
Most business presentations convert well to Real Media at a100Kbs stream. This rate should be acceptable for most networks if it is distributed via a LAN and is a suitable size for saving longer presentations to CD.
If clear picture quality is an absolute must, MPeG-1 is recommended, however size and playback options need to be considered.

Can I watch the file on the Internet?
Yes. Real Media and Widows Media are optimized for playback over the Internet. If needed Semtex can host your video or recommend other suitable providers.
Can I watch it on a DVD player?
Most DVD players will play back Video CDs. If you have selected Video CD as your destination format then it should play back in DVD players that support this format. Typically it will be printed on the front of the DVD player what it will play i.e. DVD/CD/Video CD. Video CD is a specific format and encoding technique that allows DVD players that support Video CD to playback video content that has been recorded to a regular CD.
